Brampton Festival Singers (BFS) was formed in 1985 as part of the celebration of St. Paul's United Church's 100th Anniversary, and was incorporated in 1989. In addition to three regular concerts per season we have performed at benefit concerts, civic functions, retirement homes, special events and celebrations within the City of Brampton and neighbouring communities.
A focus on works by Canadian composers has been very important to the choir, as well as performing a wide variety of music from classical to folk to musical theatre.
Special highlights of past performances include Handel's "Messiah", Mozart's "Coronation Mass" and "Requiem", selections from Gilbert and Sullivan and a "concert for literacy" with the late Peter Gzowski. We have also performed at joint concerts with Men to Boys, La Classica, the Peel Choral Society, the Mayfield Chamber Quartet, the Melincryddan Male Choir from Wales UK, the Mississauga Festival Choirs' 20th Anniversary, the folk group Brown Ale, Symphony Hamilton the Brampton Symphony Orchestra, and numerous local instrumentalists and vocalists.
